Vinyl Records

On the way back home last night, Aimi put on The Beatles' songs in the car and my parents started singing along. Then, we ended up talking about them.. the legendary Beatles... and other musicians back in their days. Aimi full of her wikipedia knowledge about them (loser! haha) and my parents talking about their experience. When we reached home, we browsed through my dad's old records. That was awesome. My mom and dad got excited about each record, started singing random lines one record after the other. We're still waiting for the new stylus for the record player. I ordered it about probably kan a month ago, and it still hasn't arrived!! Anyhoo... we probably spent about a good hour talking about my dad's records and the musicians. And the fact that my dad had a story for each record he bought was awesome.

What was amazing was this... something little which kind of overwhelmed me a bit...

I am now angan2 on collecting some myself and set up a corner for the record player and the vinyls. That would really be awesome. It would also go well with my retro mic. HEHE ;)

Anyways, i've to get going now. Gona be late for a movie outing with the Pujas. We're watching 'Wanted'. Im actually excited for this movie. Hello James McAvoy :D And Angelina Jolie too! HEHE

First week back.

So it has been a week since I arrived. But its day one of dissertation research for me. Been feeling a tad bit guilty for not doing work, so me and the machine went to UBD earlier today. Although, I haven't found as much resource as I thought I would have. I should have e-mailed my supervisor by now. But no worries... we gots some time. I hope! HEHE.

It was my first time being there the whole time she was in labour. Actually I came to send off Azam at the hospital pasal ya sleepover there. So tarus visit Ka Puput. Sekali she was already having her contractions (sp?) and apparently her water already broke. I was getting too excited. So i stayed over til the end. Man... that was worth it!! Alhamdullilah. A healthy baby boy. A new addition to the Puja family.

 

Being back home has really been awesome. I've ate everything that i said i was going to eat the first week back. I'm yet to meet the rest of the family from mummy's side. Babu hasn't come back from Brisbane, insyAllah early June. I haven't met any of my friends yet =X I shall! Serious! :D It sure is great to be back :)

 

Oh gosh, i should go to bed. Have to wake up early tomorrow to renew my driver's license. Shucks. Good night then people :)

And already, I ate Dim Sum and ambuyat. Drank cincau, coconut drink and teh tarik ping. Brunei, oh sweet home. It surely has been a while!

I'm tired. Jet-lagged. Got a busy day tomorrow. Pampering myself after waiting 9 months! Weeeee~

Manchester

03.06.2008 - Arrived in Manchester with 2 homeless people, namely Mr Hakeem and Miss Aimi Bulat. HAHA.

We had to drag 6 begs altogether from Leeds to Manch. Heavy too!


We bought Zamri a super soaker for a belated birthday gift and gave it a test that afternoon. We didn't know the Z's bought waterguns already. So they have 4 now! Plus, Zamri has the water bagpack. I think I was the most excited. Haha. Victim of the day: AIMI! Nyahahahah.

Of course someone was bound to fall over slipper floors. It had to be ME! Nyeh! HAHA

That was fun. Aimi was soaked! Everyone targeted her. Hahaha.

Random thought: If Michael Jackson was to have another comeback concert, I'd definitely go. AND when i have kids, i'll make them listen to him and make him dance like him! =D

Anyway, today we were on a quest to find a post office in Manchester. Somewhere in the city, since we wanted to eat at 'Rice' for lunch. Atu jauh the post office! Oh, how happy i was when we finally found it!


It was sunny today. It was nice, after many gloomy days. Oh gosh, i can't wait for sunny Brunei and the beaches. Oh, and i finally got Papah his stylus for his old record player. Pretty excited about that too! I can't wait to get it working =D

T-minus 8 days til Jem's Birthday
T-minus 10 days til Brunei!

It surely has been a while since i last blogged. Been in Leeds since the 24th of May, for the Slamdunk Festival the next day with Hakeem, Aimi, Farah, Jem, Umie, Faye, Lehin and Zeerah. It was better than i expected, although BLG was pretty disappointing, especially for the last act.

Oh, i should mention this:

I am done with MSc SPEP! (Except the dissertation of course!) But who cares, I probably won't be doing anymore coursework for a while. Again.. except for the 20000 words dissertation. But im done!! :D

Anyhoo... eversince Slamdunk Festival, Hakeem, Aimi and I have been busy.. erm... mastering the arts of time wasting. HAHA. Actually, Hakeem was busy packing his stuff. Aimi busy being homeless. Hahah. Me.. well... helping them out. We just got back from Hull earlier today. We rented a car to move Hakeem's stuff to Hull for his sister. Returning it back tomorrow. Boring! It was fun while it lasted. Especially when i dont have to walk up steep hills in Leeds!! Heheheh. We went to Xscape Shopping Outlet as well earlier today on the way back from Hull. Didnt buy much, but the sale at the Nike store was crazy. They were giving out 10% vouchers. And some of the shoes had an extra 30% discount. So altogether 40% discounts. How awesome. I bought 2 shirts and shorts saja though.

What you need for a road trip. Music, Directions and SHIA!!! Hahahaha

Funny thing... Everything i ate/drank today nada rasaaa. I dont know if it was just me or everything i chose to eat/drink was tasteless. But seriously, the Caramel Machiatto i had at Starbucks was bitter! Nyeh.

Allowance tomorrow! Woohoooo! Me and Aimi have a long list of what to buy for the family. Don't know where to start. HEHE. Gona wake up early tomorrow to return the car then probably go to town or something. Leaving for Manchester the day after. I can't wait. Suria coming down to Manch as well, on the 5th .. then we all leave for Cardiff! Woohooo! :D
